Shimmer, Shimmer, Shimmerz!

Hi there :)

 

Not sure why this didn't post while I was away but here is my 3rd project I created for my Guest Designer spot at Shimmerz last month.  Totally different colours for me but I loved how this turned out.  The day I did this layout I just went with the flow, just played around and let loose!

I have used the following Shimmerz Products to create this layout.

 Coloringz – No Yoking

Coloringz – Valentino

Shimmerz – Sugar Plum

Shimmerz – Pumpkin

In the background of this layout I firstly punched out some circles and just glued them down.  Using the Shimmerz – Sugar Plum I dipped my finger into the little jar and traced around the outside of the circles. Once this was dry I added some stamping to enhance the circles. Oh I am having fun with some stamping these days!

My next step was masking using some modelling paste.  Once that was dry I used a fine paint brush and went around the masked area with some Coloringz – No Yoking. Then I went over it with some Shimmerz – Pumpkin. I noticed once I added the Shimmerz, the modelling paste started to crackle...what a cool effect!

Then lastly, after all my embellishments were added I dripped some Shimmerz – Sugar Plum on them.  Love how the Shimmerz adhered to the metal embellishments.

Scrap Around the World - October Challenge

Hi everyone,

 

 

This month 2Crafty are sponsors and Guest Designers for the challenge site Scrap Around the World.

Before I left to have our baby I decided to get in and do this one.

 

Here is the challenge:

Feel free to interpret the mood board in any way you like, 

using one image, several of them, all of them or even just 

one aspect of an image, using ANY COLOURS!   Please

do let us know HOW YOU WERE INSPIRED!! 

For example:- You could use fresh, clean colours like white, pale blue, 

yellow, pink, mint green & gold.  Patterns such as florals/leafy foliage

 together with images of birds, flowers, chevrons & polka-dots! There

are elements of vintage mixed in with modern; doilies, airy lace designs,

pretty bows & clashing colours, shapes & prints.  Circles, checks,

stripes - this board is all about eclectic combinations!

There's an air of nostalgia mixed in with the uber-modern images too.

This could prompt you to scrap about different generations, life as it

was then & how it is now, or simply outdoor memories inspired by the

botanical prints.  This board evokes images of purity, beauty & 

femininity, with a touch of romance & homely peace & comfort.

Had so much fun creating this layout with 2Crafty Chipboard.  I followed the sketch but instead of 2 photos I used some chipboard
 in place of 1 of the photos. I was inspired by the blues & pinks in the 
mood board as well as the flowers, doilies, bows, typewriter,
 chevron arrows in the cushion.

 

 

And a quick snapshot of my background and chipboard before the photo and embellishments were added. Sorry for the quality it was take very late one night.

our 3rd precious baby boy

7pd 12 oz (3.5kg)

 

 

He is just perfect in every way and we are so in love with this little man. He has added so much already to our family.

Hey You....2Crafty Chipboard Inspiration

Hi everyone :))   I had such a fab time creating this layout.  I just love altering my backgrounds at the moment and doing lots of random stamping...just being free and not worrying about 'perfect' LOL!!   Adding the chipboard to this layout was such a treat.  I love the different effects you can give your layout just by altering the chipboard..   I have used the following chipboard pieces on this layout:   Chevron Bits Cassie's Flourishes Word Bubbles   'Hey You'  

 

How awesome are these 2Crafty Word Bubbles!! I love them and this one was perfect to add as a title to my layout.  My 2 little boys just love to wrestle so there is lots of fooling around in this household.  I primed it with Gesso first and then simply painted some "Pumpkin" Shimmerz.

I added the these stunning Cassie's Flourishes to my flower cluster.  I primed them both with Gesso and then painted with a fine paint brush a mixture of Shimmerz and then some Tattered Angels Glimmer Glad in 'Tide Pool' and then lastly over the top for added depth and colour some Tattered Angels Glimmer Glaze in 'Island Spring'.

The Chevron Bits were just roughly inked with some Archival Black ink.

A mixture of Prima and  Kaiser flowers and the centre flower is Maya Road one which I have just misted.

Not too long now until our little bubby arrives...only a matter of days now :)))))

You make me so Happy - 2nd Shimmerz Project

Hello everyone :))

I am back today with my second Shimmerz project.  Oh I had so much fun doing this layout!

For this layout I have used lots of gorgeous Shimmerz products:

 Coloringz – Heidi-Ho Blues

Vibez – Egg Noggin’

Blingz – Gold Glimmer

Shimmerz – Candle Light

Shimmerz – Tickle Me Turquoise

Pearlz – Mint Julip

Here is a little on the how I created the background.

Lots of layers of paper strips, washi tape, masking, stamping going on here.  Once my layers were complete I sprayed some Coloringz – Heidi-Ho Blues onto a small plastic bag, scrunch it up and just randomly patted the plastic bag with the mist on it down on my page.  This technique gives it such a cool splattered water coloured effect. Next I just lightly sprayed some Vibez – Egg Noggin’ in a few different places.  The little circles were created by spraying into the lid of the Coloringz and stamping it down in the page. 

And for some close ups.  The chipboard frame underneath the photo has got loads of texture and shimmer.  I have used a combination of Shimmerz – Candle Light, Tickle Me Turquoise and some Pearlz – Mint Julip.

Guest Designer for Shimmerz!!!!!!!!!!!

 

Hi everyone and Happy Friday :))

 

 

Well I am super duper lucky and so happy to be this months Guest Designer for Shimmerz.   Shimmerz has been an all time favourite product of mine since I found it a couple of years a go now.  It has to be one of the first things my hand reaches for when I start a project!

 

This months Challenge at Shimmerz is:

 

 

 

So here is my first project I created based on that challenge. I am so in love with the new MME ranges! This background paper just screamed to me lots of rips and tears and shabbiness :))  Love the new Scrap FX chipboard that looks like twine...amazing!



 

"Bloom where you are Planted"

 Here is a list of what I used:

Background Coloringz – Lime in da Coconut 

Coloringz – No Yoking 

Pearlz – Green with Envy Altered Flowers 

Spritz – Caribbean Sunset 

Shimmerz – Pink Blingz – Hottie Pink 

I love to use Shimmerz to alter things, weather it be flowers, chipboard, backgrounds and so on. Here is a close up of an altered flower. Love the shimmer and shine and lots of texture it adds to everything when altering with Shimmerz.

For my background I have used modelling paste with a mask and then randomly spritzed the 2 Coloringz. Love the bright colours in the Coloringz range. To add extra depth and deepen the colours further I have unscrewed the bottle top and using a fine paint brush I painted in between the masked area as well as some Pearlz – Green with Envy (one of my favourite colours!)

If you have some Shimmerz products in your stash, get creating.... you never know you could be their next Guest Designer! :))  I will have a few more Shimmerz projects to share with you all over the next few weeks.

 

As I am typing this I am madly doing last minute packing.  We leave very early tomorrow and head down to the Sunshine Coast for 10 days before I have the baby.  Its so hard to believe that today is my last day at home on my own.  Next time I will be back at home, I will hopefully have another little person to love and cherish :))) gosh getting a little teary just thinking about it.  We are so excited we cannot wait!

The last of my MHC projects...

Hi there everyone,

Hope this post finds you well.  Just posting up a couple of cute tags that I created a few months back for Manor House Creations using some of the Maggie Holmes collection.

Sadly this is the last of my Manor House Creations projects.  I have been with them for 2 years now (how time flies!!!) and its time for me to move on and let others inspire you with their creations.  I have thoroughly enjoyed my time on the team, such an experience being my first manufacturer's DT and then progressing to Educator.
