New at Manorhouse Creations

Hi there everyone and HAPPY FRIDAY!!!

School is nearly out for Term 1 and we are really looking forward to some time out!! So before I head off to pick up Riley, I wanted to share with you all some new things that are available at MHC this Autumn.

Last month I was lucky to receive these 2 gorgeous collections from The ScrapCake.  I only had time to whip up a card, but next month you will see more!

Using My Private Happiness papers..... I did some fussy cutting around the lattice work...boy that took a while!! lol!!

Then at Manorhouse, these have been released along with loads of other gorgeous flowers....the Party Time flowers. They come in a few different colours too.

I actually did this layout at the end of last year, but because the flowers weren't being released until now, I haven't been able to show it.

Be Yourself..... The red flowers have been altered using some TA glimmermist and Shimmerz. Fussy cutting around some old Prima papers.

Have a great weekend!!

Scrappy Shares...

I have been so slack this month in sharing my Manorhouse Creations layouts, but anyway, that's the way it goes somtimes hey!

I just love all the variety that MHC is releasing lately.  The colours, the texture and styles are all so gorgeous! And on my layouts I have used a whole range of different flowers from newer ones mixed with some older ones.

Dreams.... chipboard is Dusty Attic which I just painted in some Gesso, left to dry and them once I placed on my cardstock I sprayed some Tim Holtz Perfect Pearls over the top, just for a different look.

I love layering flowers on top of one another...it gives them all such an interesting look.

Autumn Baby... Well seeing as tho in this part of the world March is our 1st month of Autumn, and with Riley's birthday falling on the 2nd day of the month, I have always wanted to do a layout with this title.  Again using some old Pink Paislee paper which I went over with some gesso to tone down the floral pattern. Kept it simple with huge clusters of flowers.

So you see my crackley leaves??? I painted some crackle paint on my leaves to give it a real Autumn feel, which in turn made them curl up...just like they do in real life!!

Okay, still have some more to share but I will do that another day!
Hope you are having a great week!

CSI: Case File No. 12

Hello my lovely friends :))

Well is the last week of school before the 2 week Easter break and I am so looking forward to more of a relaxed routine as well as looking forward to our Easter long weekend away!

Okay just popping up my latest layout for my Guest spot at CSI!! its such a wonderful site and the inspiration there is amazing so I hope you can find some time to play along.

This weeks colour and inspiration challenge is this one.  At first I was scared about working with these monochromatic colours, but after I pulled out various papers and embellishments, this layout came together in no time.

Magic...Using lots of older papers here, which I am trying to do more this year.  Lots of Glitz, Pink Paislee, teamed with some Hambly and Prima

Evidence:  I have used flowers (how could I not!!!!), something fluffy which is my bandage gauze and a silhouette photograph.
Testimony: This time I just used one of the inspiration words in my title (magic).

Discovering a love for Kindy Glitz again! Rubbed some over this gorgeous Prima flower to give it a little sparkle!

I will be back with some Manorhouse layouts tomorrow.  I have been a bit slack in sharing these this month!!

Have a great day!

CSI: Case File No. 11

Hello my friends :))
Can't believe its been this long since I last posted!!! So busy with life lately, just enjoying the everyday things, sneaking in some scrapping here and there, still trying to get better!! On antibiotics now so hopefully they will kick in soon.

Anyway, just quickly popping up my latest layout for CSI this week.'

You love the beach.....photo taken last Easter at Yeppoon. Can't half tell I had oodles of fun with this one. I went a bit wild with the paint and Shimmerz but I love it!

Okay my Evidence is: paint, butterflies, string, vintage images, tearing.

Some closeups... Using some old October Afternoon paper along with a bit of basic grey.

Close up of my paint and shimmerz....

Testimony: I took a little spin on the 'document a story from your childhood' by journaling about how fortunate I was as a child to always have beach holidays. As well as I scattered the strip journaling down the page.

Anyway, nearly school time so I best keep going.
Have a wonderful day and thanks for visiting!

CSI: Case File No. 10

Happy Monday everyone!
Hope you had a lovely weekend :)))

Just popping up quickly the latest Case File at CSI, where I am Guest Designer there this month! Beautiful colours again this week and the inspiration from the DT  is amazing! I really hope you have time to give this one a go.

Raising Boys.... I have been wanting to do a layout documenting this for a while now, so I was really excited when I saw this challenge.  Being a mother to boys is something I never imagined doing.  Actually I never gave it a thought about raising boys or girls but I guess coming from a family of all girls, having boys was something totally different and new for me but even through it all, I LOVE the fact I have boys.

I also loved the lady's dress in the picture and how 'flowy'it was.  So that is how I came up with the design of this layout.

Evidence:  I have clouds which I rubbed with some gesso and then let a few pools of glimmermist 'sit' on it for a bit to get my light and dark effect. And I have a few metal Prima buttons and the metal Prima frame.

Thanks so much for visiting...I have been so sick for over a week now with a flu virus thing...its been mainly in my head and glands, so I have been laying low.  Hopefully this week I will have more time to visit you all :)))

Have a wonderful day!

Scrap for Help and an Award

Hi everyone :)
Life has been going so fast lately, so much to do and so much plan for, not enough hours in the day to get all I want done but I have been sneakily enjoying creating this week :))) Don't you love those weeks!

Now on to a scrappy share.....

This month at Scrap For Help the challenge is to use CARDBOARD. All rules and details can be found on the blog.

Here is my example.

Your new bike.....

Loads of Prima on this layout....

Now you probably have all heard of the "Liebster Blog" Award....Well over the last couple of weeks I have been lucky enough to receive two awards from a couple of my favourite scrappers!

Thank you so much ladies, you have made my day!

The idea behind the award is to spread the love, interest and knowledge from one small blog ( under 200 followers ) to other small blogs.
To accept the award you must;

1. Link back to the person who gave it to you & thank them.
2.Post the award to your blog.
3. Give the award to 5 people ( blogs less than 200 followers ) that you enjoy visiting and who inspire you.
 4. Leave a comment for these people to let them know how much you appreciate them.

So because I have 2 awards, I am going to give pass this out to 10 lucky ladies who I think are truely deserving of this award.  They all inspire me in so many different ways.  If you get a chance, please go and visit them :))

So in no particular order here are some of the ladies I love to visit....

And just to finish this off....Riley turned 5 last Friday and here are a couple cute photos of my little boy!

Love this boy so much :))) xxx

And the rocket cake I made...

Have a beautiful weekend :)))

CSI: Color, Stories, Inspiration

Can you imagine how happy and excited I was to receive an email back in January from the lovely Debbi Tehrani asking me to be Guest Designer in March at CSI!!!! Now I LOVE a good colour challenge but what I love more is inspiration pictures and prompts that go with it.  Nothing better than having a good challenge to push you out of your comfort zone.  If you haven't played along before now, you should. I haven't had a chance to up until now as I have been unwell on and off since January plus a myriad of other things, so I am looking forward to playing along more in the future.

This weeks Case File No. 9 is fantastic...one of my favourites.

My Mum, My Hero...... Still going through photos of my mum's cancer journey.  This particular photo means a lot to me.  During her gruelling treatment it wasn't the cancer or the chemo that made her so so low (although that didn't help) but it was 'golden staph' the size an orange in her groin, that made her so sick I can still remember so clearly how many times she nearly didn't make it.  In this photo, Dad had taken her outside for a moment of fresh air, after days in Intensive Care.

Birds cut out from some Glitz paper and a Charms Creations flower.

Testimony: Definition plus a Prima resist bird and flowers.

Look forward to seeing your layout in the gallery.

Have a wonderful day :)
