Hi there everyone,
Such a gorgeous day here today, I actually have the windows wide open as there is a slight breeze flowing thru the house and no air-con!! I can't remember the last time I didn't have the air-con on...it has been going 24/7 for the last couple of months! Anyway, I have been busy doing my usual Monday jobs, Riley is at Kindy and Finlay and I have been doing some colouring in, craft and reading etc. DH is away again this week so its just me and my boys!!
Over the weekend I managed to put this layout together for the latest colour combo at Colour Combo's Galore. I must admit and played with this one for ages but I am happy with how it turned out. As well as a colour challenge CCG have a designer challenge as well, which I love. It really helps push me out of my creativity zone. This week is create a layout with a filigree look. You don't have to do this either.... Filigree look is lace cardstock, intricate chipboard, border punches that sort of thing.
I happen to get my hands on some new Prima masks....oh my goodness they are simply Divine!!!! DH was a bit slack ( I shouldn't say that cause he is a very busy man) and didn't organise a chrissy pressie for me...so I held off cause I wanted to get some new CHA stuff!!!!
You are Perfect to me....
I also got a bit creative over the weekend and have discovered a love for brown paper bags! I have had this little bag for yonks and found it again last week in my clean up and decided to use it! SUYS 1st of Feb challenge was to create a handmade heart. I went a little different and created this! See my little handmade heart...I twisted out a red paper clip and made it look like a funky heart. This proudly sits above where I scrap, so I can look at my boys anytime of day or night! The little beaded thing that is attached the the bag is from Purple Pumpkin.
Well back to it I guess...thanks for stopping by and for any comments left too...
Have a great day...bring on tomorrow I say...1st day of a new month means new challenges!

Been scrapping...
its Saturday at last and my DH is home for a couple of days before he is off again. So while the 3 boys where outside this morning playing/doing yard work, I got stuck in and got my jobs done and then sat down and did this layout. It is for the sketch challenge at SUYS.
Sketch:
Admiring new Spring flowers...I decided to try out the awesome technique by Kim Jeffress in the latest Scrapbooking Memories magazine. So I rummaged around and found some older Hambly and cut out the centre bit of this gorgeous MLS diecut and stitched the transparency on. Thanks Kim for the tips and inspiration!
A cute little Purple Pumpkin button...
Hope you are all enjoying your last weekend of summer weather, although here in Central Queensland summer goes for a lot longer....yipeeeeee!!!
Thanks for stopping by, I really do enjoy your comments that you leave...it makes my day :)

Get Picky Sketch
Well its Friday already and nearly the end of another month!!!
So before the month ends I wanted to do a few challenges. First one I will share with you today is the sketch challenge for Get Picky.
Mad about Cars. Finlay really is mad about cars and not only just cars in general but Cars as in Lightening McQueen. He will sit for ages and look thru the story books and between both boys they just about have the complete set of Cars characters. We sometimes do have squabbles over who will drive what...lol!!
So I have turned the sketch and squashed it down a little to suit "me". Lots of different techniques used on this one. Using some old Rusty Pickle paper I got out the good ol' bubble wrap and stamped in glimmermist, wiped over with a baby wipe some Gesso and then went around some of the circles randomly with a pin. I stitched and distressed and added mist splatters and then turned some eyelets upside down for a different look. Do you love that little car?? I got it from HERE.
Well I was featured again at Colour Combo Galores during the week which was very exciting and I am in love with this new colour palette. How beautiful and soft are these colours. I hope I get the chance to give it a go.
Have a great weekend!

Looking for more inspiration...
head on over to Stuck?! Sketches and try the sketch for the 15th of February.
Even tho my I don't officially start until next month we had to do a layout based on the sketch below. I loved it! Sara's sketches are so easy to adapt to your style and if you are like me...I sometimes tend to flip and turn sketches. This time I flipped from one side to the other.
Sketch:
Puppy Love - Riley with his cousins puppy. He has loved puppies the moment he first saw one. Never been scared....I think he told his Nana and Grandad the other week he was getting a white puppy...not sure where he got that from, first time I knew about it...lol!
A yummy Purple Pumpkin button & loving those Glitz papers.
The Creative Team have provided lots of inspiration as well as Sara has been introducing the New Creative team with their take on the sketch, go HERE to check it out and I look forward to seeing you play along.
Have a great day :)

Red, Blue, White & Grey
Hello everyone,
How has the start of your week been? Mine has been busy more so this week than any other week. DH is away all week and so far I have had to deal with a lizard in the house (not just those little ones a BIG one) and then we have been trying to catch a mouse since Friday night, finally got it last night...so I had to dispose of that only to open my door this morning and find out a dog had been into our wheelie bin over night and I had rubbish all over my front lawn!!!! NOT IMPRESSED!!!!! We have had this happen before and we know where the dog lives but there isn't much you can do unless you catch the dog in the act. So in the mean time we put the wheelie bin behind the front gate and only ever put it out first thing in the morning on the day of collection. Trouble is the rubbish truck comes between 6.30am and 7.00am. Normally DH puts it out on his way to work but with him being away, I thought I would put it out the night before just in case things went pear shaped in the morning or we all had a sleep in!! Well won't be doing that again. So Riley and I went out and picked up all the rubbish, complained to the council about the dog and I got the rubbish truck to come back and collect our rubbish!!!
Why does all this have to happen when hubby is away!?? Sorry just had to vent & record this moment!!! We are going okay now, all has been sorted....phew...
Well I yesterday I had a go at the Colour Combos Galore #180.
I took a different approach to using "banners" on my layout. I used bakers twine and a peg to hold my photo and doily etc up. Like as if you are pegging something up on a string. Really liked how this came out. Those grey things are old slide casings that I received in a gorgeous pack from my Aunty. THANK YOU SO MUCH!
I have been having a huge clean out today. My scrap desk is getting a major overhaul. Kindy wants cardboard, scrap paper and stuff for their craft section so I have got piles to give to them! So I best keep going. Riley will soon be ready to pick up from Kindy.
Have a great day and thanks for visiting and any gorgeous comments you may leave :)

Just Because...
Happy Friday everyone,
Well after a good start to our morning...all housework, floors mopped, washing out etc done by 8.30am, I wandered over to my scrap desk and picked up two photos that I had lying around for ages. So I began a layout...a just because layout...because I wanted to.....
I love you...
Just a very simple layout using a bit of paint, misting, stitching and love those Studio Calico fabric rips which I have had for A G E S.... and of course a Prima flower and my Flourish with a Bling.
This photo of Riley was taken nearly two years ago. Riley use to love hiding under the laundry tub! He could fit under there with Finlay in it and the door shut!! I don't think he could do that now...lol!!
I am feeling inspired by these two challenges. I wonder what one I should do first...lol!!.
Colour Combos Galore...

Have a great weekend :)

My Little Shoebox
As part of my Guest Design Team position this month at HBS, Suzanne sent me the gorgeous papers from the My Littleshoe Box Harmony range along with the sweetest little bits of emellies! So here are a few LO's I have created with this bright girly range.
First of all I played with the sketch by Chloe Nielsen:
Photos of me and one of my beautiful sisters!
Some fussy cutting...love those little hanging lanterns...
And a couple of 'just because' layouts...
My two boys with their Nana (they love their Nana)....
How gorgeous is that Prima Pom Pom ribbon and those Kaiser Paper Blooms (all found at the HBS online store). I love how you can scrunch them up or pull out the petals to make the flower bigger.
Oh how yummy are those glittery, soft AC thickers.
Riley with his gorgeous little cousin taken at Christmas time. I showed him this layout yesterday and he said to he wanted to "go back to that place and play with this friend again" awwwww how sweet :) ;)
Can't help myself...I love to cut up diecuts for some weird reason!
A bit more fussy cutting and I used the cutest little droplets to form part of the flower on the chippie.

Don't forget the HBS Sketch this month. Upload your take on the sketch in the HBS gallery for your chance to win a voucher plus free postage!! How awesome is that!!
Hope you all have a great weekend :)

There is a buzz...
a certain scrappy buzz....a VERY exciting buzz around the scrappy www!!!!
I am talking about the annoucement on Stuck?! Sketches yesterday, annoucing the new Creative Team!!!!!
GUILTY....
Yep I am guilty I am one of those people that's very excited!!!
WHY....
Cause if you check out the announcement HERE you will see MY name on the list!!!!!
I am so very excited to be part of such an amazing talented team!!!! I am looking forward to the next 6 months of providing you with more inspiration using Sara's sketches.
WAHOOOOO!!!! Huge CONGRATS to all the other girls...looking forward to creating alongside of you all!
On another scrappy note.....
Yesterday I sat down again for the 3rd time and tried Colour Palatte #43 at the Colour Room again!!!! This time I am fairly happy with what I did...really simple but unfortunately we are feeling the effects from Cyclone Yasi and its a dull overcast and very windy here today, so the colours aren't coming out the best.
Another gorgeous photo of one of my sisters with Finlay. This photo was actually taken the last time we saw them before we moved from Brisbane. She found it hard to let go....its not like we won't see each other again but just not as often....and you know how it is... kids grow up too quick!
Slight misting of some chippie..
Just quickly just one of the cute pics I got of Riley starting Kindy on Monday...he is such a big boy now and can't wait till he goes back. Always checking with me on how many sleeps till Kindy..!!
And remember this POST. Well apologies for the delay in showing to you that we did in fact donate money to the Breast Cancer Foundation. Between the two of us, dealing with floods, being strandard, on holidays, giving birth, getting kids back into routine, we only got around to doing it now. BUT we did do it! I am am very happy say with a combined number of comments we donated $70 to the Breast Cancer Foundation. Here is proof.
Thanks again to all of you who helped us achieve this...every dollar helps.
Well that was a little long winded....congrats if you have gotten this far!!!
I best get going, Riley has a swimming lesson this morning :)
Have a great day and thanks in advance for all your lovely comments...I do love reading them and it makes my day :)

WW1 Challenge...
is up!!! This month its White + Brown + Vintage...think doilies, music paper, book paper etc etc.
Here is mine..
Love this photo of Riley. It was taken when we first moved to Emerald and we were on a little walk thru the Botantic Gardens and he stopped to look at this gorgeous flower bush. It was really pretty and I am glad I captured it! Just edited the photo to a vintage action to give the photo a warm dreamy feel to it.
Close up of my vintage key from My2Angels.
So there you go...you can do any shades of brown...doesn't have to be mission brown! Can't wait to see what you all come up with. Check out the amazing LO's from the CT HERE.

Kraft It Up
Morning everyone,
Wow where did last month go!!! I know I am looking forward to doing more scrapping this month! Here is hoping!!
February's challenge is up at KIU. What an amazing talented CT....the LO's are just STUNNING!!!
Challenge: Create a LO on Kraft using these colours.... BLACK, ORANGE & TEAL.
This is what I came up with. Photos taken when we had a shopping weekend in Rockhampton last year..poor Finlay I think he was so tired by the end of the day!
I had a super busy day yesterday, so I haven't downloaded my photos of Riley's first day at Kindy. I hope to do this later. But he had loads of fun!
And WOW I think people in this town are panicking AGAIN because of the cyclones!!!! I went grocery shopping last night and its usually so quiet on a Monday night but I turn up and I took the last trolley and man was there some people there. The check out lines were about 10 people deep each!!! And of course, no bread, no meat and no milk....:( Anyway..I am sure the shelves will be stocked again soon.
Have a great day!
